The ORGANISATION'S objectives. And so it should be too.
Now, while YOU benefit from that as well, there are many skills that you need to have a successful and satisfying career that your company won't invest in. And so it should be, too.
And sometimes the company will teach you (as a manager) to comply with their policy and offer limited training, when you really need much more.
It is up to YOU to take responsibility to acquire those skills effectively and quickly. The sooner the better. Because, truth be told, you will acquire the skills we are referring to, but it will more likely be insufficient, or too late;
You will learn from your mistakes, but that can be costly when your career is at stake.
